These three regions have their respective backgrounds regarding Chinese literature. The strongest influence is from change in politics: communism or capitalism. Many traditional literatures are carefully preserved in Taiwan (with Traditional Chinese language), but Hong Kong's role on English translation of those novels is very extensive. Contemporary Chinese novels rarely include political preference, except for Chinese novels of 1950s-1970s. Now very classic thoughts are renewed in literature world of China e.g. Confucius teachings. The Chinese government policy to teach Chinese abroad will actively promote translation of those novels into foreign countries.
