French novels Aug 31, 2010

I see French TV dramas many times. I felt their sensational plots are worth enjoying and studying. This French style of novels can be influenced by the writing style of Madame Bovary in 1890s. Many marrying lives today are not much changed from the historic scenes of this novel. We need to accept facts and learn of experience as in case of Emma. As a technical translator, it is quite difficult for me to translate the original Madame Bovary into a different culture [though, we already have numerous versions in each country!].
