Maradona y Evita Oct 12, 2010

To the dismay of writers and publishers, the government revealed that the cultural icons it would be using to represent the country included the legendary presidential spouse Eva (“Evita”) Peron and the footballer Diego Maradona, but left out the great Argentine writers Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortazar.

Maybe the Argentine government thinks Germans are a bunch of yahoos who are more interested in football stars and beautiful women than in literature. But at a book fair???

Borges for ever Oct 12, 2010

I was in the Buchmesse and see Argentina exhibitions and some events... This is a communication event and some advertisement for Argentina...

But do not worry, we love Argentina because of Borges, and Borges is sufficient to let us consider Argentina!

I should not forget to mention the Mate (I do not know why we talk about YerbaMate)... and our/your Carlos...

and agree with you the strange place of Mardona in a Buchmesse!
