Use of English
Dec 8, 2010
I really do think that on Proz.com - which is, after all, a venue for language professionals - it would be helpful if someone could take the time to translate Bloomberg's (or is it Google's ... ?) meaningless headlines into plain, easily assimilated, English prose conveying useful information to site users. The use of a comma to mean 'and' is thoroughly unprofessional; good enough for Bloomberg, perhaps; typical of Google's sloppy attitude to language, most certainly; but unworthy of 'this place'.
Thanks in advance.
