False report Jun 15, 2012

Hi, this report is a misrepresentation of what actually happened. Prompted by members of the CDU (political party), who criticized that they couldn't understand many EU papers because of missing or incomplete translations, the Bundestag has demanded that more documents get translated into German. The quality of the translations provided was not mentioned at all!

Whatever the ins and outs of the story, the issue remains the same. The EU spends a huge amount on translation every year and is under enormous pressure to make savings. Unfortunately, they don't always get things right when they try to do so.
