Hello to all,

Apart from the traditional job postings in proz.com and other translations websites and apart from sending Resumes to translation agencies what are the alternatives ways to find translations missions and building/expanding a translation business network?

I can only think of going to professionnal seminars (but how to get access when restricted sometimes?) and business meetings or these kind of events with many specialized people in one place.
Also going straight to a company and asking to meet the people involved in localization or translations/media?(to get a fott in the door)

But I guess you just can't go to a corporation and take an appointment as easily as going into a coffee shop or restaurant...You would be rejected most of the time or asked to fill in an application form or leave the resume which would have little chances to reach the good person (and if this person is not too busy to read it)
Anyway, I'm looking for advice and real-life experiences from you people.

Hello Alexandre

Could I suggest that you visit the 'French' or 'Getting Established' Forums with this question. I don't know which language you are viewing the site in. Are you aware that there is a localisation toggle at the bottom of the page?

Lesley
