Dear Proz members,

I am looking for translators and translation professionals (people working in jobs connected with translation) for a research project I'm doing. Please read and see if you can spare 15 mins filling in a survey during your breaks. It would be very much appreciated.

About the research
A lot of research has been conducted on Translation Memories and "CAT tools". However, as you probably know, some CAT tools are more useful than others. Semi-Automatic Term Extraction (SATE) has been around for some time. This research looks into current use of SATE. BUT, you are not required to know what SATE is, or to be currently using it, in order to fill in the questionnaire.

In order to qualify, you (or your company) must fulfil these criteria:
a) Be a freelance translator, or a translation professional in a company where there is a translation dept.
b) Mainly translate in specialised subject-matters (i.e. subject-matters with a high level of terminology).
c) Use CAT tools
d) Have English as a working language

In return, you will receive a free copy of the report about SATE (its strength and weaknesses, when to use it, etc.). This research is intended to benefit translation professionals. The questionnaire will comply with Data Protection laws, so no details about you or your company will be published.

To go to the questionnaire: http://soorvey.com/en/?s=163CHQYLIRN

About me
I am a Master's student studying specialised translation in London. Last summer, I did an internship with the Terminology Coordination Unit of the European Parliament in Luxembourg, researching medical terminology. This summer, I will be gaining work-experience with the Classifications, Terminologies and Standards Unit at the WHO in Geneva.

Thank you for your time. Please email me if you have any doubts or questions.
