LOOKING FOR TRANSLATORS OF SPECIALISED TRANSLATION FOR A RESEARCH SURVEY!

I am a student at Imperial College London, studying MSc in Scientific, Technical, and Medical Translation with Translation Technology. I am currently working on research on terminology extraction in specialised translation.

About the research
A lot of research has been conducted on Translation Memories and "CAT tools". However, there are many "CAT tools". Semi-Automatic Term Extraction (SATE) has been around for some time. This research looks into current use of SATE. However, you are NOT required to know what SATE is, or to be currently using it, in order to fill in the questionnaire.

In order to qualify, you must fulfil these criteria:
a) be a freelance translator
b) Mainly translate in specialised subject-matters (i.e. subject-matters with a high level of terminology).
c) Use CAT tools
d) Have English as a working language

You will receive a free copy of the report about SATE (its strength and weaknesses, when to use it, etc.). This research is intended to benefit translation professionals. The questionnaire complies with Data Protection laws.

Questionnaire: http://soorvey.com/en/?s=163CHQYLIRN

About me
I am a Master's student with an interest in terminology within specialised translation. Last summer, I did an internship with the Terminology Coordination Unit of the European Parliament in Luxembourg, researching medical terminology. This summer, I spent 3 months working with the Classifications, Terminologies and Standards Unit at WHO in Geneva, standardising definitions for terminology in the International Classification of Diseases.

Thank you for your time.
