I have been thinking of purchasing a copy of the Spanish Civil Code, for reference purposes (yes, I still prefer physical books to online resources, despite having to pay for them!), and came across a bilingual edition by San Pio.

Who, despite significant practical experience in the field in the US, is not a native speaker of English. I would have thought that in order to ensure the translation is of the same high quality as the original, he would have swallowed his pride and collaborated with an appropriate professional translator.

Yes, this is precisely the reason for this post, As soon as I saw that he was not native English I had concerns over the possible quality of the translation.

Innocent until proven guilty, however, so hopefully someone has first hand experience of his work!

It may also be highly Americanized(!), which won't suit me very much.
