What kind of Chinese (Trad or Simp) would be best for advertising on the East Coast of the USA?

Also, in general, for the USA.

I lived in San Francisco, CA and while there learned the main Chinese used was Traditional Chinese, but I don't know if this applies to all of the USA.

The largest Chinese newspaper in US, World Journal, is in Traditional Chinese Jul 2, 2010

Hi Kim,

Indeed, more and more Chinese immigrants in the States read and write in Simplified Chinese, but the Chinese newspaper with the largest circulation in US still prints in Traditional Chinese.

So if you run a print ad, it'd be in this Chinese newspaper in Traditional Chinese. If you plan to run a commercial on a cable channel or a Satellite TV channel, there are various channels for different segments of the Chinese population--Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese for Mainland Chinese or Mandarin Chinese for Chinese from Taiwan.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Jean

Yes, if it's a print ad that's targeted to the NY Chinese market Jul 2, 2010

Hi Kim,

World Journal has a NY edition for this market if that's what you're thinking about.
