Hello, I've recently downloaded the new Wordfast classic version, but it won't check numbers from source to target segment like it did before. For example, if the source has "323" and I type "325" in the target I no longer get a warning telling me that the numbers are not the same. I can't find the relevant bit in the manual and suppose it's a "PB" menu - does anyone know how to set this up ?

Many thanks in advance !
Dianne

Throw that trash away & take across! It is the cheapest cat tool for the freelancers (Standalone version for the freelancer costs nothing) and does number checks exactly, sometimes too precisely so that it teases.

Try this:

WFC Control Panel (with the five colours) > Setup > QA > play around with the "untranslatables" settings.

Comparing cat tools Sep 7, 2010

Hi Samuel,
Everything is relative! Across isn't the best. But if U consider 1) the relation "price & quality", 2) output compatibility regarding trados & others with using TMX files, 3) Learning/wasting time for the cat tool, 4) Supporting, 5) Some others more...
How can U compare WF ancient (classic:roll:) with across v 5.0?
I would use Star transit, if it doesn't cost ≈ 3.000 €!!!

I will select a CAT tool based on the program interface. For WFC or Trados Workbench+Word, I can translate Word files directly. Across, WFP, Trados TTX, Trados SDLXLIFF, Star Transit have special interfaces by converting the source document for translating. They can be denied by certain clients.
