Dear fellow translators,
I was wondering if there are any good translator apps out there that you might recommend (for translators, not electronic translation... eek). What I'm mostly looking for is a vocabulary trainer for French, German and English, just some sort of game to keep my mental term base constantly refreshed... something that includes advanced or specialized terminology or is maybe even designed for language professionals. I'd also love to hear if anyone has discovered apps that would be useful to us (i.e. dictation apps are great), which speed up productivity, build vocab, help with book keeping, etc. Thanks!

Simple way to create glossary of terms. Jun 8, 2012

I work mainly in legal and corporate field. But I have also deal with various engineering documents. There are quite a lot of tough terms. Some are very difficult to find an equivalent in my target language (Vietnamese), or they have different meanings in different contexts. You may agree that it's waste of time for a translator to learn all these terms by heart. I've tried several way and finally created a glossary of terms in Excel file. Easy to use; Quick lookup; Very small file. If just for vocabulary, I suppose you should try it. Please visit my article on Proz for more details.

Hope it works for you! Thanksicon_smile.gif
