Hi,
LanguageLane created a Dictionary Search Tool. This is a simple webpage with a frame allowing you to access a set of useful online resources for translators and editors (dictionaries, encyclopaedias, terminology databases and other search engines) from one webpage.

We have created this web tool to access quickly to the search engines we use more frequently in our work as translators. The page shows monolingual and bilingual resources. At the moment it has two pairs: Italian-English and Italian-Spanish, but we are planning to add more languages/pairs.
Give it a try and if you like it, please spread the word about it (links on websites, social forums and blogs are especially appreciated).
You can find the tool at: http://www.language-lane.com/dic/index.html

If you want to contribute, add a comment on our blog: http://www.language-lane.com/blog/?e=4.
Please specify the language you want to find on our tool and the online resources you use. If possible (it depends from the web structure of the external search engine) we will turn them in buttons on our tool.

Thank you very much

The LanguageLane staff

In order to perform such searches you can use well-known tools like Multifultor, IntelliWebSearch, Lexissimo, ...

All these tools are fully configurable by the user, so they can be used for any language and any dictionary site, regardless of any third-party helper.icon_wink.gif

With these tools you can assign any combination of dictionary sites to a dedicated shortcut and search all these dictionaries simultaneously with one click.

Multifultor download: see my profile.

Yes but what about setup and number of browser windows? Jan 22, 2014

You are right, these tools are certainly useful, but still they need to be installed and configured (something that not everyone is willing to do). And then they open a lot of browser windows or browser tabs.
This webpage, on the other hand, is ready to use and it allows you to have several resources in just one web tab or web window.
Anyway everyone is free to chose the tools he/she prefers. This is just another option.

Update: I added French and German resources and still adding language pairs. See them on:
http://www.language-lane.com/dic/ . Help us to make it better: tell us what resources you use.

Regards
