I have a translation that I am working on about opals and also about the mining industry. I have looked for biligual glossaries on the net that are specific to these two topics but I have had no luck in finding anything. The source language of the document is German and I have to translate it into English and also Spanish. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me find glossaries that could help me here. Thanks very much in advance for everyone's help.

I ask for onine things because here where I live it is almost impossible to buy anything online...by the time it gets sent, especially books and dictionaries the time of delivery for the translation has already passed. This is the reason why I ask for glossaries that are accessible online. I know not all of them are for free but they are basically the only ones that I have fast enough access to. Like I said, books can take weeks to arrive sometimes, and most of the time I do not have weeks to wait.

But thanks anyway to those who suggest books. Maybe someone else can get use out of that information as well.

Buy the Glückauf Fachwörterbuch Bergbau. I doubt you'll find anything on the web that is as comprehensive.

Hi,

this one is not a glossary but you can find quite a lot of useful information (also a special article about opals) in these German online-books. It's a very nice website for browsing around

Charlotte

PS: I just found a remarkable collection of dictionaries etc. which could be useful: http://www.dmarques.com/resources/dic4.htm
There is even a dictionary about geology English-Spanish (http://satori.geociencias.unam.mx/LGM/LGMMineralogia.pdf), not very exhaustive but maybe of some help.
