I simply forgot how to find how many times a term has been hit on Google. I suppose there is one for each language or am I not making sense now?

Eh? Apr 24

I just ran a Google search for "Correctional Institute" and it got 285,000 hits. I often do this to see how frequently a certain word or phrase is used. But from the wording of the query, I'm not sure if that's what you're asking about.

FWIW, if you want to find out how often similar phrases are used, (although I don't set much store in it) you could try this:

This is what I do all the time as well, but I am confused when hundreds of thousands of hits suddenly drop to mere hundreds when you get to, say, page 21 or 22. Why is this happening?

Only available when you don't specify the country Apr 26

I have observed how you lose the number of hits if you specify, via Tools, the country. Frustrating and I don't know how to get round that one.

So if you're not seeing the number of hits, it may be because you have the country-specific setting in place.

As for changing from one language to another, I tend to move from, say, google.co.uk or google.ie to google.es
