If any of you pros can spare some of your old dusty translation software, I would be obliged. I am a very motivated newcomer!

Hi Inkling,
You may find some interesting translation software in the Translators Exchange area here on ProZ. Go to the Community tab and select Exchange. Good luck.

Try Wordfast Jan 19, 2006

If you're looking for translation memory tools, try Wordfast. The free version works with translation memories of up to 500 units. The Wordfast manual is quite extensive. Just type "Wordfast" into Google and you will find the site rapidly.

Best of luck,

Perfect! The OmegaT project invites you to try OmegaT, the most popular free translation software. Visit to find out how to get your own free copy.

If you feel sufficiently motivated, consider joining the project. We are always looking for volunteers, for example to translate the documentation (only available in 12 languages so far).
