Hi there everybody,

just thought that I\'d post this also to the resources forum (apart from German) to share some web resources with you in order to raise translators\' general state of well-being:

1. medical (cardiology/cardiac surgery): Monolingual English glossary on Texas Heart Institute website -> all around the heart (\"cardiovascular terms\"):

http://www.tmc.edu/thi/glossary.html

2. Banking and Finance/Stock Exchange:

Monolingual English banking/finance glossary on website of investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein:

http://www.drkw.com/glossary/

Its German counterpart maintained by FAZ (\"Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung\"; may already be known):

http://www.boersenlexikon.de/

3. Law:

Parallel text De-En of large parts of the German Civil Code - Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB), repeatedly cited in KudoZ answers:

http://www.iuscomp.org/gla/statutes/BGB.htm

The homepage http://www.iuscomp.org leads to further valuable legal resources.

4. Geology/Mining:

quite a comprehensive En-De glossary elaborated at RWTH (Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule) Aachen:

http://sperber.lih.rwth-aachen.de/sfb/pub_glos/tp2_glos.html

5. Library Science/Information & Documentation:

comprehensive glossary En-De with dictionary search:

http://www.bibliotheks-glossar.de/

6. EU resources:

Multilingual terminology database of the Council of the European Union (may have become as well-known as EURODICAUTOM):

http://tis.consilium.eu.int/utfwebtis/frames/introfsEN.htm

Multiterm Web Access / multilingual terminology database of the European Parliament (URL leads to language pair En-De, all other EU language pairs also covered):

http://muwa.trados.com/ie/asp/QueryPage.asp?DBName=Euterpe&SrcLang=English&TrgLang=German&StyleSheet=Full-Layout&

7. Other monolingual German references:

Construction: http://www.baulexikon.de/Default.htm (also a dictionary EnDe)

Golf:

http://www.golfpark-elbflorenz.de/S_Golflexikon.htm#Seitenanfang

Marketing:

http://www.marketing-lexikon-online.de/

That\'s it for the moment and I\'m sincerely hoping that these resources can be of any help in case of translation/terminology problems.

Regards to you all from the still rainy Berlin (missing the summer so much (-: )

Steffen
