Contracting Officer (CO): COs are HUD\'s expressly authorized agents and represent HUD with regard to contractual matters. Only COs may enter into, administer and terminate contracts. CO authority is delegated in writing and limited by the specific terms of each delegation.
Contracting Officer A sponsor\'s designated individual who is officially responsible for the business management aspects of a particular contract. Serving as the counterpart to UCI\'s Contracts Officer, the contracting officer is responsible for all business management matters associated with the review, negotiation, award, and administration of a contract and interprets the associated administration policies, regulations, and provisions.
