Hi there,

I have received a marketing email by a company called Wyhlidal offering dictionaries, mainly English-German-English. Anyone familiar with them?

Hi Kristina,

The Wyhildal big automotive German to English is amazing... it is the best automotive dictionary I have seen. I work with a team of inhouse translators, and most of them swear by it...

I work with Wyhlidal automotive (the latest CD version) and can confirm that it is extremely good and well worth the price in my opinion.

I don't know what their other dictionaries are like, but this one is incredibly useful.

I'm not a car guy, so can't judge it professionally, but it has helped me out time and again. We have had the hardcopy version in the office for 20 years and now share an online version with the passionate car people in our research department. They think it's great, too.

The only thing I haven't found there or elsewhere is "Buckel" (some part of the car door that I am still looking for and might be related to "projection welding," but maybe not). I think "Verblockung" is also missing.

Their direct mail advertising letters strike me as long-winded and hard to understand in a way that the dictionary entries are not, so don't let that put you off. A strange discrepancy.
