Hi everyone!
I know that this question might be sound strange to many of you, but I was just wondering if there is a way to add terms and translations, expanding this database.

I was looking for a very specific term (EN>IT) which is not translated in IATE and I thought that it could be useful for the others having it there.

(For people who don't know IATE yet, this is the link:
http://iate.europa.eu/iatediff/SearchByQueryEdit.do)

Thank you,
Ileana

The Proz database Jun 23, 2007

You could also add your terms to the Proz database in the form of your personal glossaries that are available to everyone.

If you do opt for this as a public service, could you please give some details about why you are suggesting a certain translation.

Regards
Lesley

Very likely impossible Jun 24, 2007

IATE is a database mainly intended for in-house use by the various EU institutions and translation bodies. I imagine suggestions could be made, but opening it up into a kind of wiki that anyone could edit and add to would very quickly corrupt the accuracy and integrity of the database.

Thank you Jeremy!
That's what I wanted to know.

Have a nice day,
Ileana

PS: Lesley, I'll make my personal glossaries.
Thank you for your suggestion
