Caution Nov 9, 2007

Thank you very much for posting this glossary, but in spite of the very professional looking website I have to issue a warning!

First, some of the terms are mainly US, not necessarily used or understood this side of the pond.
The use of CAPITAL letters is totally arbitrary.

I only looked the terms under A, and found spelling mistakes: alterpiece - should be altarpiece
odd definitions: aluminum siding - lightweight material that is often painted rather than left in its natural color.
Should be: alumin(i)um cladding, lightweight, usually painted.
Anchor bolt should be: a bolt or threaded rod used to secure objects or structures to concrete.

So use this glossary with caution, and check their terminology when translating for UK English clients.
