My computer has US Windows 2000 and enough extras to be able to read and write in Japanese. Things work quite well until I install a Japanese version software. Then, I get sqquares instead of characters in the meuns and messages. Is this inherent in my setup, do I have to invest in Japanese version of Windows, or is there something I have missed? For example, my Real Player is a Japanese version, and I can use it, but I can't read the menus or, worse, the messages. Thanks.
