I intend to install Vista (business edition) by end of the year and am curious to find out what your experiences with that OS are, especially in combination with CAT-tools such as Wordfast, Sdlx2007, DejaVuX, Speech-recognition tools such as Dragon v9.51 and ScanTools such as AbbyyFinereader.

No difficulty so far Sep 10, 2007

Hi,
I have been working in Windows Vista with Office 2003 for a few months now and I have not encountered any problem with SDL Trados 2007 so far!

Cheers,
Annelise

DVX and Abbyy OK Sep 10, 2007

To install DVX under Vista I had to follow a special procedure, which is documented on the Atril Community site at http://community.atril.com/Knowledge%20Base/Forms/AllItems.aspx

But since then it has worked OK, no difference from the way it worked previously under XP.

Abbyy FineReader 8 works without any special procedure.

- some missing special characters for Romanian under Transit Satellit (ţ, ş and ă)
- Word 2007 is working very slow with Trados 2007 (but Tag Editor working very well and with less tags with the new docx format)

And you will need min 1 GB RAM ...
