WF not cleaning up

Hi all,

I've also posted on the Yahoo WF forum just in case..

The document I finished translating did not have track changes activated and no changes were visible. WF did not warn me on starting that it was in revision mode (as it has on other occasions).

Now, WF won't clean up because it says I am in revision mode.

I need to deliver the project this afternoon. Can anyone suggest what I could do to clean up this file??

Quick cleanup? Apr 1, 2008

There is this icon for quick cleanup. It does not update the tm.
Have you tried copy the content into a new fresh doc?

Two tips Apr 1, 2008

Hi Patricia,

I would try two things:

1.) It is possible that the revision mode was used but then turned off. Activate the Revision toolbar, accept all changes, turn it off, and try to clean up the file like that.

2.) Copy the text into Wordpad, and then back to a new Word file. Surprisingly, this may help in some cases.

Possible quick-fix Apr 1, 2008

Hi Patricia,

I'm not sure how you can clean up this particular file, but a quick-fix solution might be to make a copy of the source file, make sure that track changes are switched off and then translate all over again. If you had already finished the original translation with Wordfast, you should be able to simply auto-translate.

Indeed, between your suggestions and those on the list, problem solved. Went back to the original file, accepted all changes, and retranslated automatically.

With Wordfast open, click on:

1. Tools (in Word)

2. Macro

3. Macros

4. WfQuickClean

5. Run

Sure sounds like the same problem. Since I am not savvy with macros, I had not even thought of looking at that menu (supposing I could even have assumed that would solve it). Thanks, Nikki, I'll try thaticon_smile.gif
