Bonjour,

Can you provide a sample document? Feb 26, 2009

Your description of the problem is quite vague to understand. Which version of WF do you use?

conversion Feb 26, 2009

Actually the problem is due to the conversion of the document.
The PDF converted in Word is already not perfect therefore I think that my problem is due to this conversion.

It's Wordfast 5.5

Why convert? Feb 26, 2009

I have used WF 5.5 successfully with PDF!

It sometimes needs a little work afterwards, mainly with inserted graph, but on the whole, it saves pages and format quite nicely... Worth the try!

Just a piece of advise Feb 26, 2009

Files created from PDF may be a real nightmare, and I don’t believe, there is a universally perfect way to treat them.

I would ask the client for the original PPT document (if it exists) and translate it with WF alone or with the help of Werecat. If not, try different converters (my favorite is ABBYY PDF Transformer), maybe some of them will produce better results than other.

And sort of a way to circumvent Feb 26, 2009

By the way, which version of Word are the files?

Try also converting the Word file to ODT and translate it with OmegaT. Or, if the file is Word 2007, try translating it in OmegaT directly.
