What is the difference between pushing the leverage button after finishing segment and pushing Commit to TM?

What is the function of Leverage button? Is it necessary to push it every time after finishing a segment or not?

Thank you very much!

More, in Wordfast professional there is:

- Alt+down (confirm and go to next segment)
- leverage --- ??? what is it?
- commit to TM (Alt+end) - this is used in Wordfast classic when you stop working or at the end of translation)

What is the difference between all these? Don't they all put the segment and its translation into the TM?

Is it necessary to do "commit to TM" at the end of translation?

Yes, they all essentially commit the transaltion to the TM but...

-Next Segment (Alt + down) will commit your translation to the TM (assuming you do not have 'Do not add to TM' checked off in you TM preferences)

- Current segment leverage (Alt +space) will apply the TM match to just the segment that you are working on. This is useful if you make an edit to the segment (before pressing At _down to move to the next one) and then want to revert back to the TM match, for example.

- Commit to TM (Alt + End) will update the entire TXML to the TM that you are connected to. This is useful if you get a pretranslated TXML from your client for example and you want to update your TM with that content.

I hope this helps.
