At work we use Wordfast Pro 6.0 and at the moment, I am creating glossaries.
I don't know how to look up a word or a part of a word already existing in my glossary.
Words I am looking for are not always to find by alphabetical order.

I know that I can search in my translation memory, but how can I search a word in my glossary?

Thanks in advance,

find words in a wordfast glossary Jan 27, 2010

I presume you mean you want to find the word while working in Wordfast, because of course the glossary file is just a .txt file, and you could simply pull it up and do a "find" in it.

To do a "find" in the glossary while you are working on a project, you could:

1 - click the glossary button to acces it.
2 - on the RHS of the glossary, click the TOOLS button.
3 - using the dropdown menu, select the field where you want to search for the word (source, target, etc.).
4 - select the "replace" button
5 - if the word you're looking for is "widget", for example, type "widget" in both the "find" and "replace" windows and click OK.
6 - the program will tell you how many instances of "widget" there are.

I still don't understand, I'm sorry Jan 27, 2010

I am trying to do the things you say, but what is the RHS ?
I see below my glossary
TM Lookup, TMxl context, Notes

and the buttons find in source, find in target, clear

The problem is that the words I am looking for have not been used for translation yet but will be in the future because I am creating glossaries for the moment.

I do have translated some documents, but not with those glossaries.
