Hi,

Any suggestions please? I translated my document, no problems although it kept repaginating, came to the end, WF gave usual 'translation session ended.....etc' message, then froze. I can't save, close, clean, anything in fact.
WF Classic used.
Thanks
Suzi

Autotranslate Jul 5, 2010

Hi Suzi,

Can't help with why this happened, although it may be due to the formatting problems in the source, a corrupt file, complex codes, etc. I had this happen once with a very large document and it's not nice at all! If the file isn't too huge, would it be possible to go back into your source file, copy the text to a new (i.e. uncorrupt file) and then reprocess the whole thing with Wordfast and Autotranslate? All your TM units should still be in your memory. If the file is too big, as mine was, Word should autosave most of what you've done if you end up having to close it all down and you can at least reaccess it and clean it up manually by deleting hidden text if all else fails.

Good luck,

Claire

restart Jul 5, 2010

Hello Susie
simply disconnect the PC from the power supply - and then start the PC. When you invoke MS Word it is probably tell you, that it saved your document and if you want to renew it. Sometime there is such a status in the machine that only God knows how to recovery it - in such cases the hard restart via power supply disconnection is the best thing to do. Good luck

Thank you both so much. As soon as I stop weeping, I'll start again. Bob Geldof had a point.

All fine now but given the situation here in the UK, perhaps 'Tell me why I don't like Mondays' is not very appropriate, so I'll go with the Bangles...oh, and the Mamas and Papas!
