I have been getting error messages when trying to do a TM look up for some terms in Wordfast Pro. I am using Windows XP, the latest version of Wordfast Pro and the source file was Word 2007 docx. This is really strange because in general the TM look up works fine but chooses not to work for particular words (e.g. concession). Any ideas what might be causing this problem.

Also, is there any way of looking up particular phrases in Wordfast Pro? This was so easy in Classic, but Pro seems really inferior as far as TM look ups are concerned.

Regards,

Barbara

Dear Barbara,

Was the TM from another tool other than Wordfast?

TM Source Feb 24, 2011

Hi Yasmin,

The TM was created in Wordfast. One (read only) was created in Wordfast Classic and the other was created in Wordfast Pro for the current project. What is really weird is that I had no difficulty searching on other words in the same segment.

Regards,

Barbara

Using Wordfast Pro with windows XP. TMs created in Wordfast. I got this error message and would like to know what it means. The word searched for should have been found in the current TM produced in the course of the current job with Wordfast Pro.

""TM Lookup" did not complete normally. Please see the log for more information.
org.dom4j.DocumentException: Error on line 1 of document : An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x1f) was found in the element content of the document. Nested exception: An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x1f) was found in the element content of the document."
