Hi,

I am trying to use Wordfast Pro 2.4.1 demo on Ubuntu 10.10, 64-bit. When I try to run the file I am greeted with the following error:

java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/massimo/.wf_workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.ui.workbench/dialog_settings.xml (No such file or directory)

In fact, the file dialog_settings.xml is absent. It is also when I unzip a pristine Wordfast .tar.gz and look into the metadata directory structure:

massimo@metropolis:~/software/Wordfast/workspace/.metadata/.plugins/.org.eclipse.core.runtime$ ls -lha
total 12K
drwxr-xr-x 3 massimo massimo 4.0K 2010-12-02 13:39 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 massimo massimo 4.0K 2010-12-02 13:39 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 massimo massimo 4.0K 2010-12-02 13:39 .settings

so no XML.

I wonder if it has to do with either Ubuntu 10.10 or the 64-bit architecture (I have a 32-bit machine with Ubuntu 10.04 and there Wordfast opens just fine).

Can anyone give me a hint? Thanks a lot.

I think, Mar 4, 2011

it’s about 64 bit. I vaguely remember similar complaints from users in the Yahoo! mail list [1]. As I remember, there’s no cure.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that maybe there is an easy solution, I will look into it. Otherwise I'll dive into a 32-bit chroot.

Dear All,

The official support of the 64-bit version of Linux is being investigating. In the meanwhile, you can try this method; it works for several users:

Do not forget to make the SunJava your default Java, as well.

I hope this helps. Please let me know.
