Does anyone know how to get numbers to show up in Arabic when translating into Arabic using WFP. When I used WFC, all I needed to is to change the option in MS Word to (numerals: context). With WFP, I can't seem to find a similar setting.

When I save the file as a doc, it shows the numbers in English even though the context is Arabic.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Ahmed

Only Workarounds Sep 4, 2011

Dear Ahmed,

This is a known issue.

In the meanwhile, there is workaround. After finishing the translation and saving the translated file, open the target DOC in MS Word and run the following Find-Replace formula:

Find What:

- Click "More" (button)
- Click "Special" > "Any Digit"
- Click "Format" > "Language" > English (make sure you select the correct locale, e.g United States or United Kingdom based on your TXML project locales)

Replace with:

Click "Format" > "Language" > Arabic

Test it with "Find Next" and them click "Replace All".

Please have a look at this screenshot.

Warning: This could reverse numbers with separators, though - so you have to check such numbers, if any.

HTH,
Yasmin

Thanks Yasmin Sep 5, 2011

Dear Yasmin,

Thank you for your response.

The "Find and Replace" option didn't seem to find all the numbers for some reason, it could be due to text boxes. Though it did find some numbers that are in text boxes!

The "Rtl Run" button seemed to work for me, for now at least.

Thanks again,

Ahmed
