When someone sends me ttx-files, I cannot translate them in WFP straight away, but have to presegment them first in Trados WB. Why is that? After all the ttx is only a text file, and all segments are already defined, when I look at it in Tageditor. All inner and outer tags are there.

Shouldn't it be possible to duplicate all segments and insert the necessary tags at front and end and a 0% tag in between? So we would get a file where source and target segments are identical.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me where' the secret of pre-segmentation.
