I recently upgraded my WordFast Pro to the newest version, WF Pro 3.1.

When I ran for the first time the XBench QA after using WF Pro 3.1 to check the files, I could see in the QA results -within the list of checks ‘inconsistency in target’- different proposals for a source text. XBench showed all the changes I had performed after validating a segment. You can see below an example:

Inconsistency in Target
Correct

False positive error

When I selected edit source to solve the 'mistake', I could realise that the segment was correct since the translation that I finally gave and appeared was 'Pulse aquí para obtener más información'.

I do not know if there is any option in WF to disable this feature of "registering" your diferent proposals/changes while translating. It could also be a problem from XBench as it may not be customised to this new version of WF.

I would really appreciate any help to solve this bug.

Thanks in advance!

Mark as Comment Aug 9, 2012

Dear J Soto,

I have a suggestion: open the TXML file in NotePad (or NotePad++) and mark those revision sections as comments by running the following two find-replace operations:

Find what: <revisions>
Replace with: <!--<revisions>

Find what: </revisions>
Replace with: </revisions>-->

Make sure you work on a copy of the TXML file, just in case. Try to open the TXML file after changing in WFP to check if it is open correctly.

I hope this helps. Please let me know.

Kind regards,
Yasmin

P.S.: If you read this post on your email inbox, the tags might appears differently; so make sure you read it at the forum itself.

Hello Yasmin,

Thanks for your suggestion!

I tried to replace the tags you mentioned. Unfortunately, when I tried to run the XBench, the files could not be uploaded since there was a problem with tags...

Tag changes might be a quick solution if you are working with a few txml files, but if you have a lot of files and a short time, it could become a little bit uncomfortable.

I have downgraded my version to WF Pro 3.0 again and I have sent a bug to the XBench team who will work on it.

Thanks for your help!
Soto

Same happened to me Aug 13, 2012

Hi,

The same happened to me. I downgraded to WF 3.0, but Xbench continues to work wrongly. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Wordfast 3.1 Aug 28, 2012

Hi,

The issue is related with the new versioning feature of WF 3.1. This issue has already been sent to ApSIC and it should be fixed in the next version of Xbench.

Regards,

Oscar

No idea, but Xbench 3.0 supports TXML files from WFP 3.1 and it's now available at http://www.xbench.net/

Hi Roman,

As far as I know, there is not a way to delete previous transaltion proposals for a segment yet.

I have recently upgraded my WF Pro version to 3.2.1 and I am still finding former translations when I QA the txml using XBench.

It seems that the XBench team is working to solve this problem as per the email I received from them some months ago. In the meanwhile, you can use the Transcheck in the PM Perspective in WF, it is very useful as well.

Jose

Deleting revisions manually Jan 4, 2013

Okay, thanks. I wish WFP had a native option to remove them, though.

Meanwhile, I'm using this method to delete the revisions in a text editor:

1. Replace < revisions> by ‰.
2. Enable regexp and replace ‰[^‰\r\n]*< /revisions> with nothing
3. Replace < /revisions> with nothing a few times to make sure none is left.
