then, I have to wait. Very annoying, what's wrong?
Also, it often takes for ever if I use the right click, copy option to copy something.
Any suggestions for changing that behavior?

the latest one, I just got it within the last month, I think it's 6.0 ... can't find out since i right clicked, copy and it's not responding, Win 7, it seems to be particularly bad in long segments, but I can't (don't want to change those, as i would have to change them back)
still waiting, hitting escape makes it start not responding from scratch. The entire page goes white.

Anti-virus Oct 20, 2012

Please try to update Java:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Restart your machine.

Try if working in the Text View gives a better result:

Again, the problem could be from an Antivirus; so if nothing helps, try to disable your Anti-virus for a while to see if this makes difference.

I hope this helps. Please let me know.

Kind regards,
Yasmin

Still slow and it stops, seems to access internet - that may be the cause. Setting issue? Oct 25, 2012

Hi,
if I watch a video while WF is not responding or slow, it makes the video stutter, so WF is clearly using bandwidth, it should not need to access the internet. That is likely to be the reason for the slowdowns, sometimes to the point of crashes (happens especially when I enter long segments.
I have not enabled TM lookup using google, microsoft or lingo.
How do I stop it from going to the internet?
Thanks for your help.

It is difficult for me to believe in that.

WFP has nothing that uses the Internet all the time.

The only features that use the Internet (and only "on demand") are:

1- Update Reminder: Only once when you launch the application; still, it can be disabled it at the Preferences.
2- Machine Translation: You say you do not use any of its options.
3- Remote TM: only if you already have one Selected.

However, it is almost clear to me now that you have so many applications running during using WFP (to the extent that you run videos), which is not a good practice. Close all those applications you do not "urgently" need, and you will see a great speed improvement.

Again, try to disable your anti-virus for a while and see if the WFP has now speed improvement. If so, try to exclude WFP and Java from real-time scan.

Moreover, if the TXML file is to long, try to use the Split/Merge feature of PM Perspective.

As I told you earlier, try to use the Text View to see if this is better.

---------------------------------------------Extra Tip---------------------------------------------
You can try to create a new User Account on your machine.
Install WF Pro on the new profile. You should feel some performance difference.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Yasmin

P.S.: When you reply, please let us know what you tried and what you get.

Typing Speed. Any news? Nov 6, 2012

Hello,

Have you managed to solve your speed problem? Please let us know.

Here are more tips:

Do you have any of the real-time features working, such as
- "Spell-check as you type"
- Perform TM Lookup automatically
- Active TransCheck

Also, what about using the Text View instead?

I hope this helps. Please let me know.

Kind regards,
Yasmin
