Hi,

I have been using Wordfast Classic 6.03t. I find that it can not recognize a term before a full stop. For example, keyboard is a term in glossary. If a segment goes like this "Use a keyboard." the term can not be recognized (highlighted). Even if I save it as "keyboard?" or "keyboard*", it is not still highlighted.

Please find the following example. The term "keyboard" is in all segements.

In first segment, the term is recognized perfectly.

However, in the second, it is not highlighted.

This is pretty wired. However, if a segment goes like is "Tap keys on the keyboard,"

the term is recognized. So, I guest it is “full stop" that causes this error. But I just can't figure why.

Is this a known issue? Could everyone help me with this problem? Thank you.

(I have asked this question in Technical forums » CAT Tools Technical Help » but there is no definite answer)

Placeable before full stops correctly recognizes on my system Mar 7, 2013

Hello,

I just checked on my system and term recognition does work on term placed just before a full stop.

My system:
WordFast Classic Version 6.03t running on MS Word 2007 (SP3) and Vista Business SP2

However, I have term recognition misfiring randomly, requiring to go back and forth between segment for WF to eventually pick up a stored term.
See my post regarding this unresolved issue (as of today) here:

Fuzzy or not? Mar 9, 2013

What do you have for Use fuzzy terminology recognition? Is it ticked or unticked? If ticked, try to untick it. This means you will have to enter singular and plural forms separately (which may or may not make sense with Chinese as target), or use asterisks (keyboard*) in source terms.

Thank you for your reply.

I tried both ways (tick and untick "fuzzy terminology recognition"). I also used asterisks in the source term (English UK). It still doesn't work.

I‘m using WFC 6.03t on Word 2010 with Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.

Can't reproduce your problem Mar 20, 2013

I took the exact three source segments you were using:

1) Tap a text field, such as in a note or new contact, to bring up the keyboards.
2) Tap keys on the keyboard.
3) Tap keys on the keyboard,

I entered keyboard* in glossary #1, together with the same other source terms you had in your glossary (tap, text). Use fuzzy terminology recognition was unticked (otherwise you can't have both keyboard and keyboards recognized.

Sure enough, keyboard(s) was recognized in all three segments, as you can see here:

In other words, I can't reproduce your problem. I was using Wordfast Classic 6.03t, Word 2010 and Windows 7 Pro.
