Wf startup time extremely long

Wf's startup time is extremely long on Mavericks, even with today's build. I'm quite reluctant to pay 200 Euro for a 3-year WF PRO only license renewal. Anyone else having slow startups with Wf Pro?

I stil get this error:

An error has occurred. See error log for more details.
java.lang.NullPointerException

I've removed the previous build with AppCleaner. (I've tried to post a message in the beta forum.)

New release coming soon Dec 4, 2013

Dear 2nl,

A new beta version was just released the other day. The beta group needs a few days to test it before releasing to the public. There will be a lot of other new features, in addition to Mavericks compatibility!

Thanks for your patience and for using Wordfast,

John

RC7? If so, thanks for reporting! I'll signal to developers right away.

Yes, it is RC7 Dec 4, 2013

John,

Yes, it definitely is Release Candidate 7. Looks like there is quite some work to do for development ...

To whom should I address a request to extend my license until the final version has been released? As you can understand, I have mixed feelings about paying yet another 200-250 Euro just to have a stable version again. I understand that this is an unfortunate coincidence. On the other hand: I think upgrades to new versions of an OS should be free. (I'm not talking about new features of Wf Pro here. I have no problem with paying for them.)

Hans

Just installed WFP 3.3 RC7 (without removing v. 3.2.2): on my Late 2010 MacBook Air (no speed demon, but it does have a fast SSD), it takes 8 seconds for it to start. Not sure whether it's fast enough, but I wouldn't it be bothered if I were actually using it.
I stil get this error:

java.lang.NullPointerException

I also got the same error the first time I started it, when the WFP icon was still on my Desktop (that's where I had copied the TGZ). After I moved the WFP icon to the Applications folder, I no longer got that error.

Then there must be something wrong on my system Dec 4, 2013

On my system the startup is about 30 seconds to 1 minute. I really have no idea why this is. And the Java message appears every time.

I've timed it Dec 4, 2013

Startup time is 37 seconds. Not that I cannot live with this but I have the feeling that the long startup time tells me that there is something wrong on my MacBook Pro:

My MacBook Air is nowhere as speedy as your MacBook Pro:

Wordfast Pro 4 takes 55 seconds to start...
