I would much appreciate some advice on the following issue: a colleague has asked me to send her a translation I will do with WF Classic (Version 5.53) as an xliff file (she uses Deja Vu, I believe).
Is this possible and if so could someone tell me how to go about doing it?
Very many thanks,

Two-column file from DV Dec 4, 2013

Hi Michael,

If you haven't started yet, I would ask your colleague to send you the source file as a 2-column rtf file exported from Déja Vu. This will give you the source in one column and an empty target column. I do this a lot for an agency using Déja Vu and it works a treat: just copy the source column into your empty target column. Make the source column untranslatable (I use 25% grey highlighting and activate it as an untranslatable attribute under Set-up/Segments), then translate as normal. Wordfast will then only go through the target column. When you've finished. clean it up as normal, remove the highlighting and return it to your colleague to be imported back into DV. Ths works with MemoQ as well, where they also have the option to export as a two-column file.

Hope this helps.
