I'm trying to manage Studio files in Wordfast.
I've both CATs, so I can
- open the file with Studio,
- pretranslate them and then
- open it with Wordfast.

Then, after translating in WF PRO, I
- save translated fle.

But then, the file is overwritten and I don't find it anymore.

This happens when I create the file in Studio, while I have no problems when I receive a Studio file from the client.

I think I'll probably do something wrong in the Studio procedure?

Thanks
Lucia

open it with Wordfast. Apr 4, 2014

I'm not quite clear as to what it is you are opening in Wordfast - is it the bilingual file? In what format?

I upload the pretranslated sdlxliff file Apr 4, 2014

I've created the file sdlxliff in Studio 2009, then I've uploaded it in Wordfast 3.
After translating it, I've saved it as "save translated file".

But itoverwrites the sdlxliff file and I don't find the translated original sdlxliff file anymore.

I think I do an error at some point of this procedure, maybe in the sdlxliff file creation.

Hope now it is more clear.

Thanks
Lucia

Delete language code and save in different location Apr 4, 2014

Hi Lucy,

After translating in WF, when you save the translated file, you can save it in a subfolder (called "outgoing" or "final" for example) and delete the language extension. The sdlxliff file keeps the same name as the original without overwriting it.

Hope this helps,
John

Different procedure: creating the sdlxliff file in Studio 2009, working in Wordfast 3 Apr 8, 2014

I tried to create the file ex novo, I copied source into target and tried to upload it in Wordfast 3 for translation.
But it is not possible to open it in WF3. How should be the sdlxliff file to be uploaded? Should it be saved after creating it and deleting the suffix of target and source languages?

Thanks
Lucia
