Hello,
if I translate english texts into german wordfast often changes my keyboard settings (will say the charakters in the target fields display on the screen as they would do when using an english computer, eg z=y,y=z,ü,ö,ü,ß display as punctuation marks...).
This happens although the TM memory has german as a target language setting.
I am using the wordfast4.22 trial version, windowsXP and word 2003.
If anybody could help me with this problem that would be grand.
Greetings
Tanja.

that isn't a bug, it's a feature (of Windows XP)...

I ran into this too when I started using XP, and it drove me nuts for a while. The problem isn't Wordfast, but the automatic language recognition feature of XP/Word.
I fixed the problem by editing the keyboard assignements for the various languages I regularly encounter so they all use the keyboard layout I actually use (Control Panels > Regional and Language Options > Details (> Text Services & Input Languages) > Settings.
Good luck!

That's what we all had to learn in the beginning. And keep a copy of your word.dot somewhere, in case something gets wrong. it always does...

Just an extra comment:
after installing XP SP2 the previously deleted American keyboard had reappeared in my language settings.
