Wordfast PRO - Save Translated File doesn't clean

Dear all,

Sometimes when we want to use "Save Translated File" the generated file is still bilingual and not cleaned. Cleaning the document in the PM Perspective doens't work either, the file stays bilingual.

We discovered that when this happens, the function "Preview in MS Word" doesn't work either.

Does anyone know about the reason behind this and how to solve it?

Saving the translated file in Wordfast is not the same as cleaning it. It's useful for previewing your translation before cleaning it. However, if cleaning in the PM perspective doesn't work, then something is wrong. Before trying to clean the file, have you used the Translator perspective to commit all changes to memory and save the file after doing so? Have you checked that the TM you intend using has the "read only" box unticked and that all the others have "read only ticked" and that that is... See more

Before trying to clean the file, have you used the Translator perspective to commit all changes to memory and save the file after doing so? Have you checked that the TM you intend using has the "read only" box unticked and that all the others have "read only ticked" and that that is the TM you select for clean up? Hi,

Yes, we have tried all things you mention and it doesn't change anything.

This problem doesn't happen all the time, just every now and then. We don't change the settings and always follow the same procedure, so we think it is related to the source file, but we can't find what might be wrong.

Ignore Bilingual Styles Apr 27, 2016

Hi Katleen,

Before you convert your Word document in Wordfast Pro 3, make sure you have the option Ignore Bilingual Style option is checked in Edit > Preferences > Filters > Formats > Default Word 2007 filter or Default Word filter is checked.

Then open the Word document in WFP 3, translate and try Save translated.
