Can we expect a simple built in Alignment Tool in WFP in the near future?

Just a suggestion.

Thank you

How would this alignment utility have to be different from the existing aligners out there?

Have you ever worked with WinAlign... Jun 2, 2016

...or with the MemoQ Alignment?

There are lines where you can connect the different segments when you want to change it. It opens fast and, as far as I can remember, there is no need to export tm, import it again, change the format etc. etc.

It is a joy to work with. But the most important thing, it is accurate. Wordfast Anywhere Alignment is all wrong.

Now I'm sitting here for hours and hours correcting all the numbers and segments that were aligned in the wrong way.

You're talking about an interactive aligner. There aren't many of those around.

Wordfast Anywhere Alignment is all wrong.

WFA's aligner is non-interactive. It's guess-and-hope-for-the-best aligner.

Another interactive aligner is:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/bitext2tmx/
(works in Java, but is otherwise primitive, can only do TXT)

And if you have Windows:
http://mt2007-cat.ru/downloads/TextAlign_1_0_0_3.rar
http://www.leuce.com/autoit/textalign_menu.zip
(must use the AutoIt script if you can't read Russian, can only do TXT and RTF)

And, have you seen this?

That Wf Wiki page was last updated in 2012!

Clearly, it should be removed.

Could someone from Wf chip in??

It's installed on my computer. I'm not sure where I got it from. I mean, I'm not sure if it was a beta that I had downloaded from somewhere, or if it had come with a previous version of WFP3 installation. It's a beta version of the aligner, and it uses that draw-lines-between-segments approach.
