Hi!

I use Wordfast Pro 4 and have a Wordfast Anywhere account, I was informed I could host TMs in Wordfast Anywhere for remote sharing and was successfully able to do so with Wordfast Pro 3.

However, when entering the URL that Wordfast Anywhere generates, I am running into some issues.

Usually the URL goes like this:

login:password@IPnumber:PortNumber

But Anywhere gives me a:

login@IPnumber:PortNumber

Wordfast Pro 4 recognizes the connection as successful. But when I try to click "OK" to use that TM, it denies me because I have not entered a password and it's a mandatory field.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks!

Update: Able to use it as read-only Feb 15, 2017

Update:

I've managed to connect my Remote TM as read-only in WFP4.

For password, I am filling out @IPnumber:PortNumber/Workgroup ID

I leave the field Workgroup ID empty (and thus the TM stays as read-only), as it will not allow me to OK the TM with that field.

So it will look a little like this:

URL : wf://login@IPnumber:PortNumber
Address: IPnumber
Port: PortNumber
Username: login
Password: @IPnumber:PortNumber/Workgroup ID
Workgroup ID: [empty]

Using that set-up, I am able use my Remote TM in Wordfast Pro4 as read-only .

While useful, that is not what I want.

Does anyone know the correct configuration?

Thanks in advance!

Very interesting info. Last time I tried, I gave up, not having that info.

Read-only would work for me, because I mostly work alone, and I could update the read-only WfAywhere TM.

But I see how that won't work for you.

Did you ask WfP hotline?

I haven't asked the hotline yet. I sent a message through the Help section of Wordfast Anywhere today, but I haven't received any replies yet.

Once you know what to look for, it's not a hard thing to do. But most of the videos and information I found were a few years old, so it took me a while to figure it out!

If you're interested in trying:

Upload a TM to your Wordfast Anywhere account. Now, click the "view/edit" button. That will provide you with the Remote TM URL and Workgroup ID.

Go to your Wordfast Pro software. Add a Remote TM. In Wordfast Pro3, it's enough to just paste the link and it will fill out the spaces for you. You just add the Workgroup ID. I was able to write on the Remote TM in WFP3.

In Wordfast Pro4, pasting the link doesn't fill the spaces properly. So you'll have to do it manually.

1. Paste the link.
2. Fill out Address with the IP address in the URL. It will look like this 000.000.000.000
3. Fill out the Port Number. It's a 5 digit number at the end
4. Login will be everything before the @ in the URL. Example: wf://lais@000.000.000.000:00000 My login would be lais.
5. Password will be as I mentioned: @IPnumber:PortNumber/Workgroup ID

That works as read-only. I don't know if it's the best way to do it. But it worked for me.
