TM errors in Wordfast Pro 5.0

Hello,

One problem I've encountered a good number of times with Wordfast Pro 5 is this one:

"Error
The following TM error(s) occurred:
TM/MT error: Unexpected exception.
TM/MT error: Unexpected exception."

That error appears sometimes when I try to commit a segment to the TM.

Every time, what happens next is this other error, when I try to commit other segments to the TM:

"No TM warning
No writable TM(s) are available
(Do not warn me about this anymore.)
OK / New TM"

Those two errors appear even though a TM is already selected for the project and is not in "read only".

Every time this comes up, I need to close Wordfast Pro and restart it. Often, it still doesn't work, and I need to close/restart the program a couple of times until it is all back to normal.

Any ideas?

Where are the TMs? Sep 1, 2017

Hello Bauduina,

Where are your TMs saved to? If they are in a Dropbox or other type of synchronization folder, this could be the source of the problem.
Have you tried moving them elsewhere?
I same my TMs in a Google Drive folder but never have this problem. The only issue I had once was WFP going slow (the whole computer actually) because of the constant synchronization. So I paused syncing until the translation was done, then put it back on.
Otherwise, no idea what the error is, probably best to submit feedback via the Help tab, Feedback icon.

Is your license activated? If you are in demo mode, you may have reached the TU limit in the TM.

Hello John, and thank you for your answers.

The licence is activate, I am not in demo mode.

As for the TM, it is on a server (in the same folder as the projects). I am not very familiar with synchronization, so I wouldn't know.

I suppose I should submit a feedback, indeed.

Honestly, how bad can this get?

"An error occurred while submitting the bug report."

I hope I will be able to use another program soon, there are really too many errors.

Hi Bauduina,

It sounds like a network connection problem. Is your firewall preventing WFP from connecting to the internet? This would explain the TM connection error and the feedback submission problem.

You can also log in to wordfast.net and submit a hotline request for dedicated technical support.

Hi John, and thanks for your help.

Maybe it is a connection problem: I work with WFP in a company, and we have quite a lot of connection problems.

I will try and suggest to look into the Firewall options.
