I have a problem with WordFast translation program and wanted to know if I could get some councel. The client says he sees both source and target language in the Word document I sent him. I don't see it on my PC nor on a colleagues. It seems to be some remnants of source text appearing.

Did you clean the file before you sent it off to your client?

Checkbox "Hidden Text" in MS Word Feb 22, 2006

Try the option "show hidden text" in your MS Word (Extras/Options/Hidden Text).
If the check box "Hidden text" is ticked in your MS Word you should see the source text that was left during cleaning. You might then find out what happened comparing it to the uncleaned text. Maybe you erased some of these little purple signs (can't think of their name at the moment) by mistake?

Good luck!

Quick Clean-up? Feb 22, 2006

I'm wondering if you didn't use the quick clean-up option (located on the taskbar) instead of Tools/ Clean-up.

Bug Feb 22, 2006

Hi bjornml,

There is a bug and sometimes a couple of segments remain unclean. Just use the search function to search the tags and delete them manually. You must first disable the tag protection function in 'setup', 'segments', last option.

I tried Katrin's advice: Try the option "show hidden text" in your MS Word (Extras/Options/Hidden Text).
I then manually searched and deleted, as suggested.
Thanks a lot for all the advice.

Hidden text still showing Jul 3, 2006

Hi, I have a problem seeing the source text and I keep changing this option - unchecking "show hidden text" but with every new segment it keeps popping up. Is this fault of Word or Wordfast?

Another way Jul 27, 2007

Hi, guys and gals!

Another way to this annoyance that I found is this:

Open up dialog box "Find"
Set up to finding "hidden" text
Turn on Highligting (just below the "Find what" box) by checking its correspondent box and select "Whole document" from the drop-down menu.
Click on "Find" button
Then simply close the dialog box and press Delete.

Good luck!
