Hello

TTXpress add-on worked all right but the importation of the TTX file failed with error message 429 indicating : "an ActiveX cannot create the object"

Thanks for whatever input you can provide me with

TTXpress has only worked for me on one or two occasions.

The other times I had to tag the TTX file manually. If it is a bilingual file already, you're in luck, but if it is still a unilingual file, then you must first autotranslate it using Trados -- sorry.

I do get TTX files regularly to proofread, and since those are generally bilingual, they can easily be edited in MS Word. Just remember to select "Confirm conversion at open" in MS Word's general settings, and to select "Encoded text" as the type of document when you open and save it.

Knowing that is, saves time.
Many thanks for your circumstantial comments.

Why don't you simply open the .rtf with Tag Editor Jul 3, 2007

Maybe I'm missing the point here, but you can simply open the bilingual .rtf file with Tag Editor and save it. This will automatically convert it to a .ttx file. If you don't have access to Tag Editor, download the demo version of SDL Trados. This will allow you to open and save files in Tag Editor even without a dongle or a license file.

Belated thanks, after elbow grease had eventually to offset the lack of a workable solution, at least in the very short term.
The predicament is more precisely defined in above title.
