WordFast keeps changing languages

I have set up a lot of autocorrect abbreviations, for example "slas" will automatically become "Service Level Agreements". Unfortunately, WordFast keeps changing to a language other than English after going to the next segment (Alt-Down) and the autocorrect settings do not work. I am left with my "slas" instead of the longer term.

This also happens after I use the backspace key.

Does anyone have a way of correcting this problem?

Among other options:

Disable automatic language detection in Word.

Click Reorganise on the WF Service tab to reorganise the TM, which also stops WF from adopting the formatting attributes of the default text style (something it is particularly prone to do if you open another Word document in the middle of a WF session).
