Document in revision mode - could not be cleaned up

Having reached the end of the translation, I have received the following message. Track changes was not on whilst I was translating and the document does not seem to be protected. It told me it was in revision mode on the first segment (and would I like to ask author for a final version), but I switched off track changes and the warning message disappeared.

Thanks for any help on how to solve this problem.

Having read some advice in the forums, I have tried the following and it has worked:

With Wordfast open, I clicked on:

1. Tools (in Word)

2. Macro

3. Macros

4. WfQuickClean

5. Run

I had the problem once and could not find an easy solution.

Finally I think I had to open a fresh copy of the untranslated original and retranslate using the TM to get a new uncleaned document.
The at last I was able to clean it.

And I could not discover what when wrong in the first place..

I just had the same problem, and, inspired by your solution, I used the Quick-cleanup icon on the Wordfast toolbar, which also indicates a keyboard shortcut (Control+Alt+Q on the Mac). It did the trick, but presumably did not save the translation to the TM.

WF bugs... Jun 6, 2013

This discussion was very helpful, thank you all. This is just one of the many bugs I've been facing with WordFast. My document was neither protected nor had tracked changes, so it was just another error. I solved the problem by quick-cleaning the document, but, as someone pointed out here, it means that the TM wasn't updated...

As long as you made the changes in each segment as you went through them, they should still be registered in the TM.
