Serbian to English: Prologue to a monograph written by Prime Minister Milorad Dodik General field: Art/Literary
Source text - Serbian REPUBLIKA SRPSKA... Dvije riječi koje tuđinu ne znače mnogo, ali nama, njenim stanovnicima, znače sve.
Naša pradjedovina, naša očevina, naš zavjet, naš ponos... sve to skrilo se pod skutima naše Otadžbine. Jednejedine!
A ona, svjesna bogatstva kojima raspolaže, i nas i putnike-namjernike neštedimice obasipa svojom raskoši. Prelijepe izvore Plive, nadaleko čuvena jezera Bardače, našu Krajišku ljepoticu, slobodarske Grmeč, Ozren i Majevica, sembersku žitnicu, plavi dragulj Drinu, ponosne Maglić, Volujak i Zelengoru, kamenom prošaranu Hercegovinu... sve je to, iz do sada neviđene perspektive, u svojoj novoj monografiji -„Nebom iznad Srpske" - očima javnosti predstavio majstor fotografije, naš umjetnik sa foto-aparatom, Slobodan Krstić.
Jedreći poput orla no plavetnom beskraju nad gradovima i selima, rijekama i jezerima, brdima i dolinama, planinama i klisurama RepublikeSrpske, Krstićevo iskusno foto-oko zaustavilo je u vremenu očaravajućuljepotunašeOtadžbine.Ljepotukojajetu, oko nas, a koje (možda) nismo ni svjesni!
Nebeske razglednice, publikovane u ovoj mo-nografiji, prikazuju nam našu Republiku Srpsku iz potpuno nove vizure. Ako smo, čitajući prethodnu Krstićevu monografiju„Republika Srpska - Zemlja impresija", upoznali našu Otadžbinu, njen nastavak nam pruža mogućnost da ta saznanja obogatimo i zaokružimo u jednu cjelinu.
Zato, vinimo se u nebo iznad Srpske!

Translation - English The Repulic of Srpska… A couple of words which to a stranger mean nothing, but to us, the citizens, represent everything.
Our ancestral land, our fatherland, our sacrament, our pride… All of that is contained under the cloak of our fatherland! The one and only!
And our fatherland, aware of its riches, selflessly showers us and comers to this land with its opulence. The beautiful wells of Plica, the renowned lakes of Bardaca, the beauty of Krajina, the feedom-loving Grmec, Ozren and Majvica, the wheatfields of Semberjia, the blue gem Drina, the proud Maglic, Volujak and Zelengora, the stone encrusted Herzgovina… All of that is now presented, to the eyes of the public, from an unprescedented perspective, by the master of photography, our artist with the camera Slobodan Krstic in his new photo-monograph “By the Air over the Repulic of Srpska”.
Floating like an eagle in the blue abandon above the cities and villages, rivers and lakes, hills and valleys, mountains and gorges of the Republic of Srpska, Krstic’s knowing eye has captured in time the overwhelming beauty of our fatherland. The beauty which is there, around us, and which we may not even be aware of!
The postcards from the sky published in this photo-monograph, present to us our Republic of Srpska from an entirely new vantage point. If we have been introduced to our homeland in Krstic’s previous monograph, “The Republic of Srpska – A Land of Impressions”, this continuation will allow us to complement those realizations and complete one whole.
For that reason, let us ascend into the air over the Republic of Srpska!

Slobodan Krstić, majstor fotografije, AFIAP, nosilac mnogih priznanja i nagrada na izložbama u zemlji i inostranstvu, koji nam je pre nepune
dve godine podario izvanrednu foto monografiju "Republika Srpska
– zemlja impresija", prokstarivši i pokazavši nam svu lepotu koju
poseduje Republika Srpska, sagledao je ovaj čarobni kraj još jednom,
ali ovaj put nekim drugim očima.
Sada nam je podario novu, izvanrednu fotomonografiju pod
nazivom "Nebom iznad Repubulike Srpske", sa još većim entuzijazmom i skoncentrisanijim pristupom pri snimanju datog predela.
Sedao je u avion ili helihopter kada god mu je to vreme dozvoljavalo, bez obzira na hladnoću, zimu ili letnje žege i sparine, samo da bi uhvatio pravi trenutak, vraćajući se ponekad ponovo na isto mesto jer mu u prvom snimanju svetlo nije davalo, po njemu, dovoljno dobru
fotografiju.
Znao je da je trenutak samo jedan. Neponovljiv. Ako ga ne uhvati tad, neće više nikad. Jer, jedan treptaj oka i sve je već prošlost. Krstić je to osećao, svo vreme imajući samo jedan cilj - da dokaže savršentsvo.
Kada sam rekao da je u ovoj fotomonografiji ušao dosta skoncentrisan,
mislio sam da je hvatao samo kompozicijski likovne predele Republike
Srpske, ne ubacujući po svaku cenu neki administrativni centar, što
jeste slučaj u prvoj foto monografiji. Ovde se smenjuju krajolici, reke,
močvare, prirodna i veštačka jezera, prebogate borove i hrastove
šume, prirodni rezervati, mnogi manastiri kojima je Repubika Srpska
prebogata.
Ovde su predeli nestvarni, kao iscrtani veštom rukom bezimenog majstora, koji je poželeo da stvori čarobnu zemlju i ljubomorno je sačuva za nebo.
Ovde sve izgleda drugačije, nepoznato i tajanstveno, kao prvi put viđeno i doživljeno.
Ovu fotomonografiju Krstić je počeo da osmišljava i realizuje odmah
po izlasku prve i to govori sa kojom je posvećenošću i istrajnošću
prišao realizaciji ovoj dela. To govori da je on sve te fotografije nosio
u sebi, čekajući dan da ih pokaže svima.
Fotomonografija "Nebom iznad Republike Srpske" predstavlja izuzetan doprinos kulturnom blagu Republike Srpske, kako u propagandnom tako i u
enciklopedijskom smislu.
Ovo kapitalno delo Slobodana Krstića svrstava ga među najuticajnije
autore ne samo na području Republike Srpske, već i na području
nekadašnje Jugoslavije.

Translation - English An Encyclopedia of Perfection
Slobodan Krstic, a master of photography, AFIAP, the holder of many acknowledgments and awards received for exhibitions in the country and abroad, a man who presented us with the magnificent photo-monograph “The Republic of Srpska – a Land of Impressions”, which showed us all the beauty that the Republic of Srpska prides itself on, has visualized the magical land once again, but through different eyes this time.
Now, he has given us a new, outstanding photo-monograph entitled “By the Air over the Republic of Srpska”, photographed with even more enthusiasm and a focused approach in photographing of the area.
He would board a plane or a helicopter whenever the weather was fine, regardless of the cold, low temperatures or summer humidity, just so he could catch the right moment, from time to time returning to a place again because, on the first visit, the light was not good enough for a good photograph, according to his standards.
He knew that there is only one special moment. Memorable. If he didn’t catch the moment, he would never see it again. One bat of the eye and it is in the past. Krstic felt this, having in mind the only goal – to prove perfection.
When I said that he started this photo-monograph with a clear focus, I meant that he filmed only compositions of landscapes of the Republic of Srpska, and did not include some administrative center or the like at all costs, which was the case with the first photo-monograph. In this book, one landscape takes the place of another, rivers alternate, swamps, natural and artificial lakes, rich oak and pine forests, natural reserves, and many monasteries which the Republic of Srpska prides itself with.
The landscapes here are unreal, like something drawn by the skillful hands of a master who had wished to create a magical land and jealously preserve it for the other world.
Here, everything looks different, mysterious and secretive, like something seen and experienced for the first time.
Krstic started on this photo-monograph as soon as the first one was published, which speaks of the commitment and perseverance with which he approached this project. This means that he had these photographs in mind, waiting to show them to the world.
In terms of marketing as well as cataloguing, the photo-monograph “By the Air over the Republic of Srpska” represents an amazing contribution to the cultural heritage of the Republic of Srpska.
Slobodan Krstic’s capital work places his among the most influential authors not only within the boundaries of the Republic of Srpska but the entire former Yugoslavia.
