this is about a communication system between the driver and base.

You could add 'system' or 'communication system' to 'track and trace', depending on the context in your document, but track and trace will be universally understood within the sector in UK/USA.

  -> It also applies to vehicles themselves. For use of boor-wal communicatie (track and trace) in Dutch trains, for immediate fault alerts to technicians, run a Search for 'boord-wal communicatie' and click on Strukton Rail.
