Open the Printer Setup Utility:
Double-click on the [Hard Drive] icon on the desktop.
Double-click on the [Applications] folder.
Double-click on the [Utilities] folder.
Double-click on the [Printer Setup Utility] icon. The Printer Setup Utility window will be displayed.
Click on the [Add] button. The Printer Browser window will be displayed.
Click on [IP Printer] to configure the IP Address.
Select [Line Printer Daemon - LPD] from the Protocol menu.
Enter the IP Address for the printer in the Address field, for example, 123.123.1.123.
Leave the Queue field blank to use the default queue.
Select [XXX] from the *Print Using* pull-down menu, and then select the appropriate printer model.
Click on [Add]. The printer will be added to the Printer List.
Close the Printer Setup Utility.

Ho seguito passo passo la procedura descritta sul mio Mac OS 10.3:
Sotto il campo Nome Coda (da lasciare vuoto) c'è un solo menu a comparsa: Modello Stampante, in cui sono elencate le varie marche. Quando ne selezioni una, compare l'elenco a scorrimento "Nome Modello" con i vari modelli disponibili per quella marca.
Se ne hai bisogno te ne posso mandare una screenshot.

[quello che nella tua procedura viene chiamato "Protocol menu" lo vedo come "Tipo di Stampante" e l'opzione da selezionare è "LPD/LPR"]

[le maiuscole sono come te lo ho indicate - in Mac OS vengono in genere mantenute le iniziali maiuscole per tutte le parole di un'opzione]

Explanation:
Se provi a mandare in stampa un documento da Word (Menu>Stampa), la finestra di dialogo si chiama SELEZIONA;
se, invece, si prova a stampare una pagina web, la finestra si chiama SELEZIONA STAMPANTE. Credo possa andar bene.

Dal contesto, mi sembra potrebbe essere questo il caso; dal menù "Stampa con..." selezioni la marca della stampante e successivamente il modello.
